Job Summary
Ensure customer premise wiring meets with all CUI Installation and Service specifications and assure a quality finished product. Ensure employees work safely and in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Functions
Contribute to the Company vision of being the leader in customer service through quality, courtesy and teamwork
Inspect and document installation/service workmanship in accordance with company standards and documents
Assist supervisor in following up on unacceptable inspections to ensure work is completed to satisfactory levels and in accordance with NEC, SCTE and CUI standards.
Maintain safety and quality compliance database
Complete safety field observation forms when encountering associates in the field. Assist in maintaining and filing of such forms.
Perform Safety (vehicle, building and file) inspections
Complete appropriate documentation of all inspections in accordance with policy and procedures.
Perform/Repair CATV/Telecommunications installation and service work when necessary
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications
Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations, OSHA and Company policies Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder (approx. 28 ft high and 75 pounds) Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires Ability to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner Ability to inspect aerial and underground CATV drop system Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting Ability to operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with position Knowledge and ability to use computer software products such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Access as well as converting digital photos Ability to prioritize and organize effectively Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers in the installation of cable to the residence and TV set converters Ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, including gaffs, ladders, and fully loaded tool belts Ability to work in stationary position seated and standing for extended periods of time Ability to work independently Ability to work with small components and wires to make cable connections Knowledge and ability to use the following office equipment: computer, telephone, copier, fax, calculator, stapler, and send and receive e-mail Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics Knowledge of cable television products and services Knowledge of drop loss calculations Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electrical Safety Code Vision ability - close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
2 years CATV work experience
Certifications
Valid drivers license with satisfactory driving record within Company required standards

Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solutions Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night Work performed near power lines and electricity Work and travel in inclement weather Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment
